Well, here's my newest update from the foot doctor!

Well, I hope everyone's weekend was better than mine!....of course, friday arrives...yahoo....thank god its friday..right?...wrong, after a long and heartbreaking week, I get home and start to feel shitty....Next thing ya know, saturday comes and yup....I got the flu, or some shit along those lines!....I am dizzy, congested, achy, and miserable!....so, there is not much to update you on, as far as my weekend went!....Although, there is one piece of sad news, that i am hating to announce, and still have a hard time typing or speaking of this news.
well...here it goes....I went to the foot doctor on tues. afternoon, and after a check-up, I went on to ask....naturally...so, when can i start jumping rope and flippin around and stuff so i can plan my next fitness show?....and Dr. Cohen (who by the way is one of the best foot dr.'s around, and has been working with the Philidelphia Eagles for many years) replied...."well, I don't recommend you to start that at any time soon!"...and naturally i said...."ok, well when?"....then he said...."uhmmm, never!?!"....and i said....."uhhhhmmmmm, whadaya mean never?"......and he said..."Well, Teri, as you know, what you did to your foot is the WORST thing you could possibly do to your foot. And working with athletes my whole career, mainly the Philidelphia Eagles, once this injury occurs (tearing of the Lis Franc Tendon), the athlete is well aware that his or her career as an athlete is pretty much over, as it is with your sport. Your foot, is also more unstable than most, even after the repair of your tendon, cause the front of your foot has a flat arch, where the back of your foot is pretty high, making it very difficult for even the best orthodics to prevent you from re-tearing your tendon with the high impact activity that pro-fitness competitions require!
Soooooo, I said, does that mean no more fitness competitions?.......DUUUUUHHHHHH!
Well, you guys get my point, i am still in absolute shock about this news, and am having a hard time digesting the fact that i am a retired Pro Fitness Athlete....so, my next question was....where do i go from here?....Well, Dr. Cohen did say that Pro Figure was ok, cause walking on stage in heels doing quater turns was not going to put me in harms way of re tearing my tendon (unless of course i had an incedent where someone tripped me or pushed me to fall and horribly twist my foot....hey, don't ginks me!)......

Well, that was tough enough for me to blog all of this today, so until my next blog....i hope all is well, and feel free to leave any comments!
xoxoxo
